Since I was a kid I liked drawing funny cartoons and including a joke I recently heard and liked. I was limited to a few characters that I got good at drawing. Back then the only comics you could see were in the newspaper or the standard super hero comic books put out by DC Comics and Marvel. But now I keep finding more and more cartoon games that let you make your own. Also, from watching cartoon network with my kids I have become exposed to hundreds of other styles like manga and anime. There are so many more cool comic books at Borders now that it’s inspiring. Not to mention all the online webcomics at sites like Comics.com and Onlinecomics.net. By checking out webcomics online I found out its a growing industry that has holds huge conferences like Comic-Con.

This issue’s ‘Adventures of Danogo’ comic strip was created on ToonDoo.com. This free site has tons of great cartoon images and you can even upload your own pics. There is alot of full color art for backgrounds and a nice collection of characters and props. It has features to make your own book with your comix. The actual program you use the make the cartoon is done in Flash and it’s intuitive and easy to use. However, the site is very slow and gets hung up sometimes when you are saving your work. It was worth dealing with because its the best online tool I’ve tried to generate web comics.

Keep checking back because each issue I’ll be reviewing a new cartoon generator site as I make my own strips.
