So have you heard of Artificial Intelligence? Basically it’s the idea of programming a computer to interact with you like a person. The idea became popular in the 1960’s movie 2001: A Space Odyssey with the creepy computer HAL 9000. Then more recently, Jude Law and Haley Joel Osment made the concept human in Steven Spielberg’s movie Artificial Intelligence: AI. There are two great blogs to learn more scientific details at smart-machines.blogspot.com and The Singularity and Singularity Institute for Artificial Intelligence.
That’s all cool and interesting, but AI is just a nice idea until you and I can actually find some useful purpose for it. Well, incredibly I came across A.L.I.C.E. at the Artificial Intelligence Foundation that provides the technology behind Pandorabots. These sites give you the tools to create your very own personal robot to chat with. There are a couple great real world examples in this interview and in a video game.
I decided to develop my own virtual bot and for fun I’ve made him a Psychic. It seems like there are lots of people who would like to get a reading, ask questions and get advice for free. So I think this could be putting AI Internet technology to one of its first useful purposes! The Danogo Psychic can chat about anything, so visit with him often for live humanoid predictions. Do you think he is more or less accurate that a real psychic?
And without further ado I introduce to you, Danogo the Robot Psychic…
