I get asked allot about how to get a site into the Google search results. It’s really not a hard thing to do even though so many books and bloggers make it look complicated.

Sponsored Results

Go to Google adwords at adwords.google.com. You can set up keywords for whatever your Web site is about for instance ‘home design, decorating, etc’ and it will appear in sponsored results.

Actual Results

- Add a bunch of articles and updates (have a programmer set up a Wordpress blog) to your website with writing about your site’s topic and include keywords for example ‘Easy Steps to Home Design, Do it Yourself Decorating, etc’.

- Submit the articles and site url addresses to social bookmark sites like Digg.com and Reddit.com. Add the site to directories like online yellow pages, dmoz.com and a few others.

- Google will find and index your article ‘content’ and when people search for the keywords in your writing they will find your site.

- Repeat the process to get into more an more search results and to get higher up in the results.
